Entertainment/Fashion Love: Project Runway Season 10 Premiere!

Summer  is my absolute favorite season except one thing- no good shows. No New Girl, Happy Endings, Modern Family or Parks and Recreation.  I miss my favorites and most shows in the summer are truly terrible which is one of the reasons I am ecstatic that Project Runway starts tonight! I am so excited to see the new designers, the new challenges and the best judges around.

Some of my favorite Project Runway challenges:

1. Hardware Store Challenge: Season 7

This is an outfit by Jay Sario Nicholas in Season 7.  I still wish I could buy this and am amazed it is made by tape.

2. Hershey's Challenge-Season 4

This look was made by one of my favorites,  Jillian Lewis.  What a fabulous use of candy!

3. Miss. Piggy Challenge: All Star Season

Loved the creative looks the designers made for the pretty pig and the fun she brought to the judges' panel.

This entire collection was beautiful.  The vest is beautifully unique take on a classic look.

Excited for the Times Square Runway Challenge to start off the season!

Music Love: Amazon's Artists on the Rise

I have recently become obsessed with Amazon's free music section.  I started downloading free music and making playlists so I can sort through what I like during my summer road trips. They have an Artists on the Rise section, which is where I found the wonderful Kimbra, and free playlists created by Amazon and record labels, which is where I found the very popular "Bright Whites" song.

Some of my favorite finds from this free music treasure chest:

Fashion Love: Target/Neiman Marcus Collaboration

This morning I was going through my typical summer morning routine-drinking my tea, catching up on my favorite blogs and reading news from my favorite apps.  One fashion story instantly made me want to jump up and down.

I was reading through articles on the Cut (style app and website I can not live without) and this headline stopped me in my tracks-

Target’s Next Collaboration Features 24 Designers, Including Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg, Jason Wu, and More-thecut.com

Target/AP photo

I can not even explain how excited I am. Target and a major designer are always a good combination, style and a good price, but now it's that times 24!

Target is teaming up with Neiman Marcus to release the holiday collection and it will be released on December 1st. And yes, I have already made a date with a friend to be there the minute the doors open.

Designers I am the most excited for:
Carolina Herrara
Diane von Furstenburg
Jason Wu
Lela Rose
Marchesa
Oscar de la Renta
Tory Burch

Who am I kidding, I want something from all of them!

I will be religiously following @neimanmarcus and @targetstyle on Twitter to keep up with all the previews and updates!

Food Love: American Ice Cream Bites

Bakerella.com recently had a fabulous recipe and the step-by-step instructions called brownie sundae bon bons.  I decided to turn this amazing recipe into an American-inspired summer treat.

I changed a few of the ingredients.  I used cake instead of brownies, red velvet cake ice cream and white candy melts.  The red velvet cake ice cream is one of the best ice creams I have ever tasted.
I filled the candy cups with the white candy.
Put a small layer of slightly melted ice cream in the chocolate cup.
Put the chocolate syrup on top of the ice cream.
Bake the white cake with blue dye and then place a small layer on top.
Put another layer of white candy on top and then add some festiveness to the top!
My sweet American treat!
Yum!

England Love: My Favorite Things

In honor of two of my favorite weeks of the year (Wimbledon!) I compiled my favorite British things.  I am a true anglophile so there are quite a lot of them

Starting with the most important category:
My Favorite Royal (and the World's!):
Duchess Kate

This is a no-brainer.  I loved her from the second she put on this beautiful Alexander McQueen gown.  My favorite part of her wedding day was when some of my kindergarten girls came in wearing crowns, they were very proud that they had seen a princess get married.

My Favorite Book Series:
Harry Potter

Calling this my favorite is putting it lightly. I also think the British covers have a fun, vintage look.

My Favorite British-Bound book:
The Portrait of a Lady

One of my favorite books since high school.  An american girl heads to England which is the start of any good story in my opinion.

My Favorite Commoners:
Sophia Grace and Rosie

I have recently become obsessed with watching everything on Youtube that involves these two.

My Favorite Designer:
Temperley London

This company is run by Alice Temperley and is an amazing blend of edgy and classic.

My Favorite Beauty Product:
Butter

My new favorite nail polish which I have splurged on as a summer gift to myself.  Now I think this set should be an Olympic gift to myself.

My Favorite British Food:
Digestives

They sound gross but these are my absolute favorite thing to eat in England and at home when I miss England.

Random Favorites:
Red Telephone booths-I'm in love with this iPhone cover.
amazon.com
Black Cabs-So vintage and elegant.

www.shop.visitlondon.com-I look at this site way too much.
