The resort collections are always a beautiful start to summer.   This year had gorgeous, glamourous and bright pieces for 2013 and give us a great glimpse at what is to come for the Spring 2013 collections.

Durham Love: Food Trucks

Summer is my favorite season for so many reasons.  One of the best parts about it is the food trucks are always out and about!  Durham has a unique flair and great food and they both combine in the assorted trucks you can find around town.

Great breakfast pizza from Piepushers!

Two of the regulars, and two of the best, are Only Burger and Piepushers.  

One of the recent Food Truck Rodeos where all the trucks are herded together as well as the hundreds of Durhamites who love them. Over 35 trucks in one place! But if you decide to spend the day at the next one be ready to wait and bring a snack to eat in line.

Parlez-Vous Crepe is a truck I consistently come back to.  It shows up on Duke's campus and all over the Triangle at different events.

One of my many goals during this gorgeous North Carolina Summer is to find and eat from as many of this fabulous trucks as possible.

1. Doughnette Truck
2. The Parlour (A modern take on an ice cream truck and soda shop!)
3.American Melts (Unique grilled cheese type sandwiches that get great reviews.)

Music Love: My New Favorite Emails

My new favorite music source is Today's Top Tune from KCRW, an affiliate of National Pubic Radio that is stationed in Santa Monica.  You can sign up for daily emails from Today's Top Tune. A new song each day picked from alternative and indie music and sent in the email.  The song is free the entire day to download (they go straight into my iTunes without any hassle)!  It's like a music present every day and an email you actually want to open! Just sign up here.

Today's song is a smooth and chill song called Love is Luck by The Walkmen.  It makes me excited to see what song will come tomorrow!

Fashion Love: Birchbox

Today I got my first birchbox!

Birchbox is a company that supplies a few samples of high-end cosmetic, hair and fragrance products. They send you products each month based on the profile you fill out.

I love the adorable box! It's like a present (that I bought for myself) each month!

June's box was a Jet Set theme with tanning wipes, bronzer, lip and cheek tint and perfume. It makes me very excited to see what will come in my other boxes.

Birchbox.com sells this subscription for $10 a month (including shipping!) and can be cancelled at any time.  They also have short term subscriptions you can buy for friends which I think is the perfect ongoing present.  

Next steps for me and my birchbox: Go to their website and check out videos that match each of my new products on how to best use them.  The entire idea is pure genius.

Summer Love: Day One

Today feels like my first official taste of summer because it is my last workday of this school year! Here are just a few things that made it one cool day.

Chicken and Waffles from Dame's on Main, yay for getting to eat such delicious food with friends in the middle of the day! (Quite a big deal for teachers.)
